Many of us have sandwiches for lunch that may include white bread, turkey, processed cheese, some fruit, some crackers and some juice or a glass of milk. This lunch may seem healthy but it can actually help you add more pounds instead of losing them. Instead of white bread, go for whole wheat bread. This will help boost your fiber and help you be healthier. It also may be a good idea to use mustard instead of mayo. This will help you cut down on calories and fat. Including dark chocolate or almonds instead of crackers will help increase your protein and provide you with more energy throughout your day.
If your typical lunch is a burger and fries and a soda, there are some things you can do to change this and make it healthier while still enjoyable. Make sure the sandwich has less bread and no cheese that way you will cut down on calories but still enjoy your lunch. It may also be a good idea to avoid ordering fries and order a yogurt and berries instead. This way you can cut down on fat and salt intake and get some fruit and dairy in your lunch instead. If you prefer pizza, make sure it has plenty of vegetables and less cheese and include a salad. This will make sure you enjoy your pizza but get in all the food groups you need to keep you healthier.
It is possible to eat a healthier lunch by just making a few minor changes and paying attention to what you are eating and how much.
